In Due Time

Fat.

Those days when I wake up and nothing feels right on me. Everything feels too tight, even sweatpants and my favorite t-shirt. Gotta hate’em but maybe I’ll finally whip myself into shape due to them.

When you know sorry isn’t quite enough. You know that you’ve done more than just been unkind, you’ve ripped a hole into their heart. Your actions should have spoken louder than your words, and your words should have been kinder and less rash. It’s a new day, so will they try to shake it off? I sure as hell hope so…

“It’s not you, it’s me…”

When you realize that it truly is you. It’s not only your excuse that they will hopefully except, but it also the only reason that you have. Its not like what they do is wrong, it’s just that you try to find every single flaw within that person’s actions. Who knows why? Any answer? Paranoia. You try to justify why you should break up with them, you search and search and search for that one flaw or that one reason so that you can justify yourself. Maybe its because you don’t like them anymore. Maybe its because you don’t think you deserve them and so you want to set them free so that you can watch them do so much better and end up happier. Maybe its because you just want to see if they’ll fight for you to not go through with it….fight for them to stay with you. Or maybe its because you are just so afraid of getting hurt that you can’t stand the idea of being in a relationship for much longer.

Baby you do nothing wrong, but if I were to run away, you wouldn’t fight. And maybe that’s because I’ve worn you too thin.

ACTA Protests in Europe

Over the past few weeks protests have erupted across Europe against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement Act, an international treaty that would standardize criminal targeting and enforcement in counterfeit goods, generic medicine and copyright infringement on the Internet.

Via the Electronic Frontier Foundation:

ACTA has several features that raise significant potential concerns for consumers’ privacy and civil liberties for innovation and the free flow of information on the Internet, legitimate commerce and for developing countries’ ability to choose policy options that best suit their domestic priorities and level of economic development.

ACTA is being negotiated by a select group of industrialized countries outside of existing international multilateral venues for creating new IP norms such as the World Intellectual Property Organization and (since TRIPs) the World Trade Organization. Both civil society and developing countries are intentionally being excluded from these negotiations. While the existing international fora provide (at least to some extent) room for a range of views to be heard and addressed no such checks and balances will influence the outcome of the ACTA negotiations.

To date, 31 countries have signed the treaty, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia an most members of the European Union.

For more information about ACTA, see University of Ottawa law professor Michael Geist’s ACTA tracker and the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s ACTA topic page.

Faded pictures on the wall

Who affected my life the most, whose still in it at all

Who is left out of all the friends that say that they would care

Where are the ones that said that they’d always be there

And where in the wonderful world has the old me gone….

“You can never be overdressed or over-educated.”
— Oscar Wilde
When you’re sitting all alone in a crowded room…

When you’re sitting in a classroom/lecture hall/lab/whatever and you feel a tension in the room that you just can’t explain…maybe its just you, maybe its the guy next to you, maybe its just the whole damn room in general feeling this exact same feeling as you at the exact same time. But what is that tension? Is it the need to just be done with this class? (“Because as interesting as this is I’ve got other things to do that are more important…”). Is it the need to just get up and move around because after and hour and fifteen minutes you’re at that point where you just want to rip your hair out? Maybe…that’s usually my reason for wanting to get the fuck out of there but not sure if people feel quite that strongly about it. Is it just the need to not be there? To not be around all of these people that you don’t even know and you will probably never in your life associate with. (Wow…this sounds like a serious case of over-dramatization and Emo-kid syndrome…ew.)
